Mountain House Macaroni Kid SPECIAL PRE HALLOWEEN WEEKEND EDITION

October 24, 2014
This weekend there are so many fun things happening that I've created a SPECIAL PRE- HALLOWEEN CALENDAR to help you and me keep everything straight! Saturday starts off with a new event called the Mountain House Autumn Festival. Central Park will be filled with Scarecrows hand-crafted in a variety of categories. Next, the MHFF Children's Parade which has been going on for quite a few years now is a must do. The kid's dress up in costume and walk around the park "parade style" stopping at spots along the way to receive a trick or treat (mostly treats). Afterwards, there are contests for best costume and a few other things that go on that are festive. This event is especially fun for the little ones who usually don't make it very far or long on Halloween night. Another of my favorite events happening this weekend is the Questa School Foundation 3rd Annual Carnival. I especially like this carnival because it is at NIGHT or nearly night so it's not burning hot and it's charming when the lights come on which makes it even more memorable for the kids in my opinion. Come visit me in the Haunted House I co-created with the 8th grade students. And stay for Trunk or Treat after the carnival ends at 8pm. But the nights not over... don't forget to visit the Halloween Fundraiser Costume Party on S. Providence Street. Everyone is invited and it's worth the visit. This Saturday is geared for adults but the house will also be open on Halloween Night for Trick or Treating. Last year, the Haunted S. Providence Street House raised $1,100 for Oakland's Children's Hospital. This year their fund-raising goal is $5k!  On Sunday, The Southwinds Children's and Youth Harvest Party starting at 2pm is fantastic! The event is well run, and NOT the least bit super crazy for parents! It's rare to find an event these days that is so family friendly AND economical. Bring a bag for your candy. So if that isn't enough to exhaust your kids then I don't know what is! Let me know how it goes! I like to hear from the subscribers.
