I have been looking forward to meeting Grace since I learn about A Scents of Grace's mission to Create Safe, Affordable, Bath Products made with organic ingredients and are natural, cruelty free, gmo free, fair trade, SLS free, vegan, and phthalate free. I have some many questions for her. What motivated her to start her own business? Why bath products? is it really organic and natural ingredients? How she presented her vision to her family? How she managed to be in school and run an entire business on the side? what do her parents think about all this?
All my questions were answered finally when I met Grace at the Wicklund's Farmers Market on Sunday, and I am truly impressed by her business skills and maturity at 15 years old. Grace goes to MHHS, she is on the varsity cheer team, she is a jr coach for the jr mustangs, and find time to run a business on the side. She manages to balance all that work by being very organized with her time and great understanding of the responsibilities as a business owner. Grace started at 14years with a loan from her parents after pitching her ideas and business plan just like any other start-up company here in the bay area to get VC funding. And believe me, her mom made sure that this was going to be Grace's business and not becoming mom picking up after Grace business and she is now paying back her loan.
Grace's passion for bath products came from her love to taking bath and the disappointment to find out that products made without chemicals are not that affordable so she decided that she can make quality bath products with organic and natural ingredients and make them affordable for everyone who loves taking bath and care about what the quality of the bath products.
Grace assured me that she personally takes time to get to know all her providers and only sources from the best. One of her providers is from her own family's farm in Kentucky, where she sources the rose petals and honey from. She spent up to an hour to make a batch of bath bombs but other products can take up to 3-4 days to make because the quality of her products is very important to Grace, check out our Facebook live video.
You can find Grace at the Wicklund's Farmers Market every Sunday or visit A Scents of Grace Facebook page to learn more about the different bath products options.
